It's reading time!!! hehehehe.....For those who love "true story", u guys may want to consider this book.....i watched Oprah few months back and she invited Carolyn Jessop who lived in a community which believes in plural marriage i.e. polygamy.....she was forced to marry a 50-year old stranger as his 4th when she was 18 and he was a religious cult member ... Later, she became one of his 6 wives and bore him 8 children in 15 years. When the cult became more extreme, she knew she and her children had to escape.
The abuse in the community was beyond our imagination. They were abused emotionally and phisically. Husbands were in control of everything.....they could do whatever they wanted to do with their women and children...they believed the "outside" world [outside their community] was contaminated.....lucky for her, she escaped....struggling to start a new life with one sick child and rebellious children......
Despite our modern world and the thought that the westerners are more civilized, it is just beyond our imagination to know that this kind of community exists and the abuse is just beyond words.....
